Puerto Escondido keeps a submarine world worth visiting. Owing to its clear and transparent waters, as well as lukewarm, visitors can snorkel and dive to spectacular submarine landscapes surrounded by coral reefs where a wide variety of fish have made their home, among which are: the grouper, butterfly fish, balloon fish, eagle fish, barracudas, lobsters, turtles, eels, octopuses, among many others.

The best beaches for these activities are Puerto Angelito, south of Puerto Escondido; Carrizalillo, at the southeast, where the visitor can find all the necessary equipment; and Bacocho, west of Puerto Escondido which also offers expert instructors.
