What to Do
Puerto Escondido offers its visitors endless possibilities for sport and recreation: tours around the area, in which the proximity with nature and the preservation of the resources are a priority, from a visit to beautiful lagoons to the Mexican Turtle Center.
It also offers places such as the marvelous coral reefs, ideal for diving and snorkeling, as well as for admiring the vast and beautiful variety of multicolor fish, mother-of-pearl, lobsters, and manta rays.
It stands out in the port calendar the November festival, during which the International Surfing Tournament at Zicatela beach is one of the main spectacles, with the International Fishing Tournament and the Port Festival of the Dance.

Too much to do...
The natural attractions frame beautifully the folklore expressions, always merry and colorful, as is the Puerto Escondido Carnival in February. The wealth in cultural activities put the visitor in touch with the ancestral rites, songs, and dances of the black race.
